Having attended the first Laces Out! event back in October, we figured the second in the Camp and Furnace hosted series could only get better – and we weren’t wrong!
With over 50 stalls this time round, the event has doubled in size and retro trainer enthusiasts were met with a feast of choice amongst the many adidas, Nike, Air Jordan etc sellers as well as trainer-related accessories such as laces, enamel signs, candles, prints and T-Shirts.
Event Sponsors Scotts had a stall with the chance to win a badged up “One True Saxon” scooter – wow, did it look the part … in fact, it was so nice, My Son entered the competition to win it twice! Great to see a big company like Scotts putting their not inconsiderable support behind the day.
Event organisers Rob May and Mike Smith take the credit here for setting up a day that had something for everyone with for me the pièce de résistance being the screening of the Soul Searching in Argentina film together with attendance and the film’s introduction from adidas Spezial champions Gary Aspden and Mike Chetcuti.
Great beats from Mighty Mojo, and an all-day bar, deli burgers and even a barber (“Cut Throat Pete”) just added to the general excitement of the day – can’t wait for the next one!
There was a real buzz around the festival all day
You want these – adidas Paris – Are these one of the only 20 pairs ever made?
Music in both Camp and Furnace rooms
We’d love to hear what you felt about the day – Please add your comments below:
hi i noticed on you pictures here your showing a pair of adidas paris trainers, blue and red with gold lable, were there only 20 pairs made of these as i have a pair in very good condition
Yes, your’re lucky as only 20 pairs were made – haven’t a clue what they’d be worth though – do you? – a lot will depend on their condition and whether you’ve still got the original presentation box and packaging etc.
Hi could you please tell me when the next festival is please?
Hi Simon,
It’s on Sunday 20th September and starts at Noon – tickets can be bought in advance here: http://www.lacesout.co.uk. Hope this helps 🙂
Kind regards
Olivia
